Spiritleaf cannabis stores are popping up across the country, and the St. Albert store—run by husband and wife team and former police officers Jayne and Jason Kent—is among one of the first Edmonton-area franchise locations for the Alberta-based chain.

“We wanted to provide a safe and reliable place to buy cannabis products and we felt that Spiritleaf’s values represented what we would want for the community,” Jayne told T8N Magazine in a recent interview.

The Vibe

Situated in a plaza at Bellerose and Bourdeau, this cannabis store is neighboured by suburban staples: orthodontists, boutiques, a pizzeria, etc.

Comfy chairs greet you inside the front doors and offer a warm welcome. Barnwood walls and a herringbone floor give off rustic vibes, but the space is otherwise quite contemporary.

Were it not for a wall of glass water pipes, you might not immediately register that this place sells cannabis.

Customer Service

Chat up the store’s proprietors and knowledgeable staff if you’re seeking guidance, or browse the store menu on touchscreens dialed into Leafly.

Cannabis is scarcely seen on the showroom floor but digital menus mounted to the wall display the selection of strains and prices in store.

Expect to find a varied selection of dried flower, prerolls, and oil from Up, Aurora, Broken Coast, and at least a dozen more licensed producers.
