BOSTON (AP) — The Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission has approved final licenses for four more retail marijuana shops in Fall River, Hudson, Pittsfield, and Great Barrington.

The commission signed off on the licenses for Northeast Alternatives, Temescal Wellness and Theory Wellness during a meeting Dec. 13, 2018, at the Statehouse.

Northeast Alternatives applied for a retail license for Fall River. Theory Wellness wants to open a shop in Great Barrington. And Temescal Wellness is hoping to open shops in Hudson and Pittsfield.

The votes came just days ahead of the planned opening the weekend of Dec. 15, 2018, of the state’s third retail marijuana shop, Alternative Therapies Group in Salem.

The first two recreational marijuana shops on the U.S. East Coast opened Nov. 20:  Cultivate in Leicester and New England Treatment Access (NETA) in Northampton.

Those two have generated more than $7 million in sales since recreational sales began.
