A second medical marijuana dispensary has been approved to begin sales in Arkansas and is expected to open the week of May 13, 2019.

The state Department of Finance and Administration said on May 10, 2019,  it authorized Green Springs Medical in Hot Springs to open after it passed an inspection. The company said on its Facebook page that it planned to open May 13, 2019.

The department earlier in May formally signed off on its first dispensary, Doctor’s Orders RX, also in Hot Springs. The two dispensaries are among 32 that the state has licensed to sell medical marijuana. The state has also licensed five cultivation facilities to grow the product for dispensaries.

Arkansas voters approved Issue 6, a measure legalizing medical marijuana for certain conditions in November 2016.
