A super interesting Gallup poll has come out showing the views on legal marijuana dropping off a cliff for Republicans. Although a majority still supports legalization, the trends are showing that we may have hit peak support.

Republicans are certainly losing interest in legal marijuana, and these voices are only getting louder, despite Trump’s reluctance to take a stance.
Over at The Hill, opinion pieces are getting written against weed, citing new info about car accidents and a prevalence of weed being in the mix. The issue with this data is that judging if someone is HIGH versus having marijuana in their system is a huge difference, considering that the only way we have to test for THC basically just can tell if they have consumed in the last few weeks.
Just yesterday we reported on an ad put out by a Trump ally that added to the urban myth of fentanyl-laced joints that has been making the rounds for years now. Apparently these tactics are taking root with Republicans.
However, more concerning is the plateauing of support in the Democrat camp. 85% is still extremely high, but it’s very possible for this graph to follow the downward trend of the Republicans in the next few years. Independents seem to on their way down as well.
Seems the years in which we can assume public support will continue upward are gone.
