Central Cannabis claims the honour of being the first cannabis to open in London, Ontario. Located in a strip mall on Wonderland Road at Farrah Road, the store opened on April 1, 2019 and business has been brisk ever since.
Licensee Chris Comrie won the opportunity to open one of the first 25 privately-owned retail stores in the province through a lottery run by the AGCO. To open the store, he worked with Ontario Cannabis Holdings Corp (OCH), founders of NewLeaf Cannabis, a chain of cannabis a stores already well established across Alberta.

“Shortly after winning the Ontario cannabis retail lottery, I travelled to Calgary to see firsthand what the OCH executive team had accomplished in terms of retail success with NewLeaf, and it was quickly apparent that their experience was unmatched in the industry,” said Comrie. “They had twice as many licensed stores as the next-largest brand in a very competitive market, and their approach to this growing industry and business strategy was a perfect fit for me and my store’s success.”

Weed-wise, all the major LPs are accounted for: RedeCan, Broken Coast, Liiv, Tweed, etc. Prices are more or less the same as the OCS.
When it comes to accessories, the selection is slightly more distinct. A rainbow of blown glass and carved wood pipes sit along high-tech gadgets like the OTTO joint machine.
