Now that cannabis has been legalized for recreational purposes in Canada, the stuff should be easy to find, right? While the country has been dealing with supply shortages, the industry rumbles along and does what it can to provide access to adults from coast to coast.

Between recreational and medical cannabis, Canadians now have the ability to access their cannabis with same-day delivery. Sure, it’s not as fun as being able to walk into a store and ask questions, but when your weed starts taking less time to get to your place than an Amazon Prime shipment, that can really be satisfying.

Third-party logistics companies such as Pineapple Express Delivery typically operate the same-day delivery services on behalf of legal cannabis producers and sellers. Orders must be placed by a certain time, and sometimes you can select a 2-hour window to receive it in. Otherwise, you should expect to receive your product sometime in the evening, and you will have to show a piece of government-issued photo ID at the door.

Same-Day Cannabis Delivery is Coming to Ontario

Medical Cannabis Same-Day Delivery in Canada

Ontario

The Greater Toronto Area is now home to 4 different legal, same-day medical cannabis options, so if you live in Toronto or the surrounding area, there’s no reason you can’t access medical cannabis on the same day as your order!

CannTrust – Medical cannabis producer CannTrust offers its clients a service called TrustDelivery. Patients living in the GTA, including Toronto, Oakville, Richmond Hill, Brampton, Mississauga, and Oshawa, can place an order before the 4 p.m. cut-off and receive their order between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. Costs are reasonable: $15 for orders under $90, $5 for orders above $90, and free for orders order $150.

Solace Health – This medical cultivator will deliver their cannabis to you same-day if you live in the Greater Toronto Area. A representative from Solace told us orders should be placed by 11 a.m., and are picked up by a courier service, One Courier, for delivery later that day. Cost will depend on your exact address, and users will have to register before they know the exact price, but to give you an idea you should expect to pay around $17 before tax per shipment if you live in the downtown Toronto area.

CannMart – This medical cannabis provider doesn’t grow any of their stuff, but rather sources their products from a variety of other commercial licensed cultivators – they hope to be the “Amazon” of Canadian cannabis. One way they have differentiate their company is through their same-day delivery to the Greater Toronto Area. They offer a rush-order delivery for $30 (or $15 for orders over $200) that will get your cannabis delivered within 3 hours. Otherwise, same-day delivery costs $15 – or free for orders over $200.

Green Relief – This producer uses fish to produce their cannabis! Well, sort of. Through the power of aquaponics, the company produces pot in their Flamborough, Ontario-based facility, and they even get to donate hundreds of fish afterwards to food bank Second Harvest. The company offers same-day delivery (of their cannabis, not their fish) to select parts of Toronto and the Greater Hamilton Area. Orders must be placed by 2 p.m., for delivery between 6 an 10 p.m. Pricing is tiered: $15 for orders under $99, $12 for orders $100 to 199, $8 for orders $200 to $299, and free for all purchases above $299.

Alberta

Aurora – One of the larger producers of cannabis now offers same-day medical cannabis delivery to clients in the Edmonton and Calgary areas through courier company WestDirect. The best part? The company extends their existing, generous medical cannabis shipping policy – free shipping with orders over 5 grams – to those patients that live in those lucky parts of Alberta that can benefit from same-day shipping.

Recreational Cannabis Same-Day Delivery in Canada

If you don’t have a prescription for cannabis, you may still be able to access recreational cannabis same-day, but only in select cities.

Saskatchewan

Prairie Cannabis – Do you live in Prince Albert, Alberta, population 36,000? If so, get ready for same-day delivery of recreational cannabis. Licensed retail cannabis stores in the province can sell to adults through couriers, and Prairie Cannabis advertises on its website that it will soon offer same day delivery to those in the Prince Albert and surrounding areas.

Manitoba

Delta 9 – This producer of cannabis was known as one of Manitoba’s first commercial licensed producers under the commercial medical cannabis program launched in 2013. The company offers to adults in Winnipeg a same day delivery of recreational cannabis as well as a 2 hour rush delivery service. The same-day service starts at $9 for the first 15km, while the rush costs $11.25 for the first 15km. The total rate depends on how much further the courier has to drive, but you can expect to pay a couple bucks on top of that.

Tokyo Smoke – Like Delta 9, Tokyo Smoke also offers same day service to Winnipeggers. The company offers cannabis from a variety of different producers. It costs $9 to have it delivered by end of day, $2 to pick a time frame, or $15 for two-hour delivery.

Ontario

Ontario Cannabis Store – The province has not yet implemented a same-day delivery service, but recently put out a tender for the provision of courier services that would be used for same-day deliveries in the Greater Toronto Area. That means adults in the Toronto and surrounding areas will soon be able to access medical cannabis within hours of placing it – no medical prescription required.
