Shoppers Drug Mart Granted License to Sell Medical Cannabis Online

Patients will be required to submit a medical document completed by a healthcare professional to register. Medical documents can be dropped off at Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacies in Ontario, provided by mail, or directly by a healthcare practitioner via secure fax.

Specialized advisers from the “Shoppers Cannabis Care team” will then contact patients, review their medical history, and provide support with online registration and product selection.

Shoppers Drug Mart says it has signed supply agreements with 10 licensed producers of dried cannabis and cannabis oil. Among the brands currently carried, Canadians will find products from Aphria, Aurora, Broken Coast, CanniMed, Emblem, MedReleaf, Starseed, Tilray, and WeedMD.

In addition to cannabis, the online sales portal will also carry products and medical accessories such as vaporizers and oil infusers.

Prices for dried flower start at $7.20 per gram and eligible patients can take advantage of the pharmacy chain’s “compassionate pricing promise” to receive a 20% discount.
