Rankin County deputies make arrest

A traffic stop on Interstate 20 in Rankin County led to the seizure of large quantities of cocaine and marijuana, Sheriff Bryan Bailey said.A Rankin County Interstate Interdiction Task Force deputy stopped a Nissan for a traffic violation about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, Bailey said. The deputy was given consent to search the Nissan and found more than 5 pounds of fentanyl-laced cocaine, 90 pounds of marijuana and THC candy hidden in the car, Bailey said. THC is the active ingredient of cannabis.Denarrio Singleton, 27, of Las Vegas, was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking, Bailey said. Singleton is being held at the Rankin County Jail.The confiscated drugs will be sent to the Mississippi State Crime Lab for testing.
