It’s been an emotional month for thousands of ex-convicts and their families after Thailand, a country who had a rather harsh take on marijuana convictions in the past, has legalized the plant. Instantly, this nullified more than 3,000 prisoners sentences and allowed them to be picked up by family members.

Celebrations happened across the country as marijuana was officially decriminalized on the 1st of June. People were smoking in public and generally celebrating the plant.

If this same thing happened in the United States, we’d see over 40,000 walking free on one single day.
