Despite some states being sticklers on weed legalization, there are some categories that even they have some leniency for. And at the top of that list is the terminally ill.
The two most recent states allowing marijuana for these patients are Pennsylvania and Louisiana. Pennsylvania approved a bill in the House with a very supportive Governor. Louisiana, on the other hand, has a much more conservative government. After passing the state house and senate, the Governor is going to allow the law to pass without his signature. Seems to have a fear of political blow back if he’s tied in any way to marijuana.
Now, there are 41 states who allow the terminally ill to treat their pain with medical marijuana. The holdout states left are Indiana, Iowa, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Wisconsin who only allow CBD, and Idaho, Kansas, and Wyoming who have no medical marijuana program at all.
